How Maluna works

How Maluna works

Maluna brings together plant knowledge, your garden and the current context to reach a considered, understandable decision for your garden.

01

What is Maluna?

Maluna is a personal, context-aware garden assistant that works out from your garden, the weather and the season which task makes sense now.

02

Who is Maluna for?

Maluna is for hobby gardeners who enjoy looking after their garden without wanting to know every plant in detail. You do not need any prior plant knowledge.

03

How does Maluna work?

Maluna connects three sources to arrive at a concrete task: the plant knowledge in the plant catalogue, the state of your own garden, and the current context of season and weather. This produces recommendations, which in turn become tasks.

  1. Plant knowledge from the plant catalogue +
  2. My garden areas and plants +
  3. Current context season and weather

Tasks

  • Lift the dahlias Due

The first frost is forecast for Thursday, and the tubers cannot take it.

  • Trim the lavender Good timing

Dry until Wednesday, so the cuts heal before winter.

04

How is Maluna different from a garden calendar?

A garden calendar gives every plant the same date, no matter where it grows or what the weather is doing. Maluna takes into account the location, the weather and the care history of your own plant before suggesting a task. A garden calendar stays the same, even if a plant has only just been planted or watered.

„Feed tomatoes: from May.“

Maluna

Your young tomato by the south-facing window needs water rather than fertiliser today, given the current heat and no recent watering.

05

Do I need plant knowledge?

No, you do not need any plant knowledge. Maluna draws what it knows about location, light, water and other characteristics from the plant catalogue in the app.
